Participation in a wide variety of sporting activities is central to life at Rathmore Grammar School. Students are taught a range of physical skills as well as communication, teamwork, time management, organisation, leadership and resilience. They are taught that frequent physical activity isn’t just good for their bodies; it’s good for their minds too. The Physical Education Department strongly believes that sport has many physical, psychological and social benefits for children. They believe that sport goes beyond learning new physical skills. Sport helps children develop better ways to cope with the highs and lows of life. It also gives children the opportunity to make new friends and build better friendships. It can give children a sense of belonging.
