Congratulations to our Under 16 girls' footballers who were runners up in the Danske Bank Irish Football Association 11 a side Finals competition held yesterday at the Valley Leisure Centre.
The girls had qualified from the group stages held at Brook Leisure Centre in January and joined the other nine best teams at their age group on the final's day.
In the group stages the girls drew with Kilkeel HS, defeated OLSP Knock 1-0 with Katie McGurnaghan scoring, defeated St Patrick's Dungiven 2-1 with goals from Katie and Lauryn Gourley and defeated Holy Cross Strabane 1-0 with the goal scored by Aoife Kavanagh.
Unfortunately, they were beaten by an excellent Parkhall Integrated School in the final.
A fantastic achievement from the girls to reach the final in only our second full year of school's football. Great ambassadors for gilrs sport in the school.
