Our Voices Matter

On Friday 20th September, Miss Wright and our Year 14 pupils attended the conference ‘Our Voices Matter’, at Queen's University Belfast. This conference included an opportunity to reflect on the Season of Creation and hear some inspirational words from theologian and environmentalist, Martin Palmer.

Four pupils were invited to attend and participate in a workshop focusing on the current climate crisis and ways to ensure climate justice in our society. Florence Dairo, Eva Deery, Fionn Cregan and Aaron Blaney all engaged in a discussion with the SDLP leader Claire Hanna and Deputy Leader of the Green Party NI, Lesley Veronica. The event took place on the eve of the International Day of Peace and included fascinating debates and discussion around matters of climate change and the role of religion.
