Last week saw our Senior boys and girls compete in the Irish Seniors Golf Competition – girls played at Rockmount GC and boys at Spa GC. Conditions were tough in the morning with some hellacious wind and rain. Play was delayed at both competitions for 45mins and eventually the weather improved – unfortunately our players had been out in the worst of conditions.
As Bobby Jones (designer of Augusta National GC) said, “Golf is the closest game to the game we call life. You get bad breaks from good shots; you get good breaks from bad shots – but you have to play the ball where it lies.”
Our players were admiral in the face of tough conditions but it just wasn’t to be. Time to hit the range and get dialled in for next season.
