Women in STEM
Recently, a group of girls from Year 11 and 12 who study Technology and Design or Computing were invited to the Belfast Metropolitan campus at Titanic to celebrate women into engineering. They participated in workshops that involved the use of 3D printing facilities, gas engineering and fitting, sports analysis tracking, use of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality. These workshops were informative in the promotion of these industries as potential careers but also encouraging girls to consider the potential for future career development. A number of guest speakers discussed their areas of study and career paths within engineering fields hoping to inspire a future generation of young, talented female engineers.
