Congratulations to our Year 10 pupils, Olivia Crilly, Eva Kerr-Woodrow and Sarah Morrison, who won the All-Ireland Final of the Irish Federation of University Women Public Speaking Competition. The final took place on Saturday in Trinity College, Dublin. After Rathmore successfully won the Queen's University Heat in February, we competed against the winners of University of Galway, University College Dublin and Trinity University.
The girls had 30 minutes to prepare a two minute speech on an unseen topic and excelled in discussing school bullying, social media and the issue of travel. The adjudication panel complimented the girls on creating very personal speeches that engaged the audience. The girls were presented their award by the IrFUW President Mrs. Mary Morrissey and the British Ambassador to Ireland, Mr. Robin Barnett.
