This year, all Year 9 pupils have taken part in the Youth and Philanthropy initiative (Y.P.I) as part of their LLW course. The programme involves pupils researching and working closely with local charities on a wide range of social issues such as mental health, suicide awareness and homelessness. All pupils presented their projects and the winning team from each class got to progress to the much anticipated live final! On the day, the pupils who were campaigning on behalf of the Simon Community, Northern Ireland’s leading homeless charity, were announced as the overall winners. It was certainly not an easy decision to make as all of the charities involved were worthy of receiving the much needed funding.
Congratulations to all of the Year 9 pupils who worked with such enthusiasm and compassion on their presentations.
A special well done to the winning team and the girls are pictured with the £2000 cheque which will be given to the charity and put to great use.
