Be Strong Online

April 16, 2018

A group of our students attended an online safety and awareness course in De La Salle College. The course was run by The Diana Award, which has teamed up with Vodafone to create the Be Strong Online Ambassadors Programme. Some of the modules they cover are: Social Media, Cyber Bullying, Selfies and Self-Esteem and Critical Thinking Online.

Our Be Strong Online Ambassadors were recruited from Years 8 - 10 and this group of six students, comprised of Oisin Conlon, Marc Curran, Ciarraí McConnell, Laura O'Neill, Axel Shaji and Aimee Travers, run training sessions and now have over 50 trainee ambassadors! To date they have created awareness of online issues by talking at assemblies and by creating and updating a noticeboard in school. The group meet twice a month with Mr Kelly to discuss online issues and plan future activities.  By the end of June they will be delivering a number of workshops on Selfies and Self Esteem to junior school students.
