Recent success for our Netball teams

Congratulations to all our Netball teams who took part in the Northern Ireland Netball Cup competition last Wednesday.

The Intermediate team followed up their win of the Schools Netball League with another outstanding win in the Netball Cup competition beating Glenlola Collegiate in the final.

The Minor Netball team had a real battle with Methodist College, Belfast. At the end of the match the score was a draw 10-10 and following a period of extra time the 2 teams were still all square at 18-18. The decision was made to award both teams joint winners. The Minor team also won the Lisburn District League.

Our Junior Netball Team were finalists in the cup competition where they finished runners up to a strong Methodist college team and are still in the final of their Netball League. They will meet Thornhill College, Derry, in the league final after Easter.

Michelle Drayne, a past pupil, who is representing Northern Ireland in Netball at the Commonwealth Games in Australia, joined us for a Sports assembly celebrating the success of the Netball Teams last week. She is a great role model and gave the pupils an insight into the opportunities she has received from her involvement in sport.
