Concern Debates

November 9, 2017

Well done to the Sixth Form students participating in the Concern Debates programme 2017-2018. The team have proposed two motions so far and both motions have been carried! The teams from Rathmore faced stiff opposition from other schools. Motion 1 ‘ To end hunger, the world must embrace GMOs’ was opposed by St. Louise’s Comprehensive College and Motion 2 ‘For women to access leadership positions, gender quotas must be implemented’ was opposed By St.Louis’ Grammar School, Kilkeel. All the students involved have worked diligently to both prepare and present their arguments, no mean feat whilst studying  for 3 or 4 A Level examinations.

Well done to all the students from Rathmore for their first two wins in 2017. On to Motion 3…
