National Schools Geology Challenge Final

National Schools Geology Challenge Final
A group of 4 enthusiastic students from Year 13 Geography attended the National Final of the Schools Geology Challenge on 3 May representing the Northern Ireland Regional Group. The competition was organised by the Geological Society of London at Burlington House. The students were tasked with creating a poster, delivering a short presentation on the theme ‘current geohazards’ and participated in a quiz. Rathmore geography students gave an excellent presentation on the causes and effects of tsunamis. The group were congratulated on their efforts but missed out on the top prize narrowly.
