Year 8 STEM Club - Chemistry

StartFragment
The Chemistry STEM activity involved making bath bombs and bouncy balls from common household substances.
We used baking soda and citric acid (kettle descaler) and baby oil to make the bath bombs, we gave them nice colours with food colourings and pleasant smells using essential oils.
We made bouncy balls out of custard powder, pva glue and Borax(washing powder)
It got very messy and the lab still smells of lavender! The students were brilliant, so enthusiastic and helpful to each other. I think next time we might need a wee bit more time!
