I Draw, I Do

On Friday 7 October, a group of Lower VI artists visited the world famous David Hockney’s ‘I Draw, I Do’ exhibition at the MAC, Belfast. This is the first significant presentation of his work in Ireland and so it was a real privilege for our pupils to attend. As the artist approaches his 80th birthday, he is keen to share his message about the importance of the skill of observational drawing with art students as part of his global tour. The students had an opportunity to learn a lot about his travels and styles from the guided tour and left feeling inspired to improve their observational drawing skills
