Politics Student Addresses the Opening of the Global Research Institute at Queen's University Be

Sarah Kirk, Lower 6, was selected to address esteemed guests at the launch of the Global Research Institute at Queen's University, Belfast. Sarah, who is studying AS level Government and Politics, spoke on the theme entitled: ‘What’s next for Northern Ireland?’ As a young person, born in the year of the Good Friday Agreement, Sarah spoke passionately about her belief in the ambition of the young people of Northern Ireland, who, with an optimistic idealism, will be responsible for forging the future of Northern Ireland. Her speech was warmly received by those gathered, among them some esteemed guests including: Senator George Mitchell, Pro-Vice Chancellor Patrick Johnston, Jonathan Powell, Tim O’Connor, Brendan O’Leary and Colum McCann, many of whom commented that Sarah's speech stole the show.
