Rathmore were delighted to participate in the third heat of the Concern Debates. On Thursday evening the team travelled to the proposition, St. Louis Grammar School, Kilkeel. Rathmore opposed the motion, “Nike should be applauded for standing with Colin Kapernick”. The team included Matthew McAteer (captain), Sarah O’Neill (second speaker), Caroline Loughlin (third speaker) and Matthew Colquhoun (fourth speaker). On Wednesday 14th November, six Year 13 pupils participated in the Soroptimist Public Speaking Competition in Hillsborough. Recently Claire Hogarth from Friends of the Cancer Centre visited the school to receive a cheque from the funds raised through our coffee morning. It was lovely to have Claire in and many thanks to the students, especially the prefect team, and the staff for contributing so generously!
