On Monday 17th September 57 AS Biology students, accompanied by their teachers, braved wet and stormy weather conditions to complete their AS Biology Field Trip. The students set out to Ballymacormick Point in Groomsport to compare the biodiversity of the middle and upper shores. The students were able to put their sampling techniques to good use whilst making friends with some local crustaceans! A great day was had by all and this trip will certainly aid our students in prep
Rathmore's Biology and History departments teamed up to enable fourteen of our Year 10 students to complete the second day of the School University Partnership Initiative (SUPI). The students got a taste of 'Researching in the Ancient World' where they gained insight into Ancient History, Archaeology and the Microbiology involved in research. They really enjoyed the day and even had the opportunity to extract DNA from strawberries.
