Congratulations to the sixth form debating team who made it all the way to All Ireland semi-final of the Concern Debates programme 2016/17. This was an outstanding achievement given that this is the first year that the school has entered the competition and they were awarded the accolade of ‘Best New Team’ at the All Ireland final held in Dublin. Rathmore Year 13 musician, Ciara Collins, has had a very successful year as a performer. In March, she won the Music Galleria Cup at the Lagan Festival of Speech, Music and Drama (post grade 8 repertoire). She has also been selected to play at the European Piano Teachers Association (EPTA Belfast) Annual Invitation Concert at Rosemary Street First Presbyterian Church, which is on Saturday 20th May 2017 at 2.30pm. Rathmore has long enjoyed a tradition of entering teams in the Belfast Marathon, in order to raise money for local causes close to our heart. This year, three teams made up of staff completed the relay marathon raising money for our chosen charity, The Friends of the Cancer Centre. This wonderful effort was dedicated to the memory of Mr Martin Donaghy and Mrs Jane Herron.
