On Tuesday 27th September, Year 13 Geography students attended a lecture hosted by the Geographical Association at Queen’s University Belfast. Students had the opportunity to hear from Dr Iestyn Barr; Lecturer in Environmental Climate Change at QUB. Dr Barr used his experience researching climate change in NE Siberia to describe and explain the impact of climate change in the Tundra biome. On Wednesday 14th September we said a sad farewell to thirteen German students from our partner school in Bonn, the Nicolaus-Cusanus-Gymnasium, and their two teachers Frau Junker and Frau Pepeet. The groups had spent an action-packed week with their exchange partners from the Year 12 German class. On Tuesday 13 September, we gathered as a school community to officially mark the beginning of the new school year and to give thanks for the wonderful success of our pupils in their summer exams. Fr McGrady celebrated our opening Masses which focussed on the theme: "It is the Spirit that gives life". This was followed by the Investiture of our Prefect Team and the inspiring speeches given by our Head Girl, Aoife Murray and our Head Boy, Ryan Harrison.
