Storyteller Dr Patrick Ryan

Patrick Ryan returned today to Rathmore Library to tell tales to Year 8 pupils. All 184 pupils had the great experience of listening to this internationally renowned storyteller. 
Dr Ryan told a number of traditional folk tales, including some on which Shakespeare based his plays. He provided some fascinating background information on Macbeth, which is used to introduce Shakespeare in Year 8 English.

He told the Chicken and Hedgehog story which includes a clever trick, and he and the pupils shared some riddles. Between sessions, Grace Magee and Lucy Marron interviewed Dr Ryan. It was a very enjoyable and memorable day.
