Our Lower Sixth pupils ended 2011 by singing a selection of festive carols to the residents of Park Manor Nursing Home. As part of the Pope John Paul II Award, over forty pupils visit the residents weekly for a chat and cup of tea after school. The pupils put on an impromptu performance of some seasonal favourites in their last visit before Christmas.
The residents were so thrilled by the entertainment that they joined in to further add to the festive feeling. Having sung to residents in each of the day rooms, the pupils split up into smaller groups to sing to other residents by their bedside, to ensure all the residents had the opportunity to share in the spirit of Christmas.
