Physics Department
Physics, the most fundamental of all sciences, is the study of matter and energy.
It sets out to explain the physical world, ranging from the smallest of building blocks and particles even smaller than atoms right up to the origin and behaviour of the entire universe itself.
Along the way, advances made in knowledge and understanding have led to exciting developments in science and technology radically changing our view of the world around us and how we interact with it.
To develop this knowledge and understanding, to decide how the new technology should be used in the future, is the work of the curious young minds of tomorrow.
The Physics Department aims to:
• stimulate curiosity, interest and enjoyment in Physics ;
• help pupils gain an appreciation of nature's basic physical concepts;
• develop abilities and skills in pupils which are relevant to the study, practice and application of Physics and which are useful throughout their lives.
