Music Department
Opportunities exist for music making – Senior and Junior Choirs, Chamber Choir, Intermediate and Senior Irish groups, Jazz Ensemble, Percussion Group, African Drum Troupe, Flute Ensemble, Junior and Senior Strings.
Lessons are available in Singing, Violin, Viola, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drum Kit, Tin Whistle, Fiddle, Piano and Electric Keyboard.
Pupils work towards external Practical and Theory examinations and those students studying Rock instruments are allocated to Rock workshops featuring drum kit, bass guitar and lead guitar. Irish traditional players work in a wide variety of ensembles.
The Department provides music for school Masses, Carol Services, the School Concert, Open Days and Shows and encourages pupils to take part in external music competitions.
